ROCKFALL PROTECTION

|
ELSA® a lightweight rockfall barrier with articulated anchored support post. One single anchor per post! It complies with the French standard NF P 95-308, classes 1 to 3 i.e. 12.5 to 200 KJ Innovation :
- the barrier comprises a post mounted on a tripod or bipod base,
- the base is fixed to the ground by a central soil or rock anchor acting in tension through an elastomer bearing concentric to the anchoring bolt (class 3),
- the elastomer bearing enables the support post to articulate on the base.
Technical Advantages : - the reversal of the articulated support during impact dissipates energy and increases the capacity of the barrier,
- the tangential forces to the ground are supported through a mechanism under the base that ensures the base anchor is only stressed in tension.
- the netting support system, complete with cable stays, can be pre-assembled prior to being transported by helicopter to the site where the assembly can be mmediately mounted on to the pre-drilled anchor,
- the anchors can be systematically and quickly tested to their design load using a hydraulic jack reacting against the post base.
Cost reduction : - The reduction in the number of anchors required for each post significantly decreases installation costs,
- pre-assembly of the system prior to transportation reduces installation time,
- Reduced installation time means reduced labor costs and disruption time.
Minimal visual impact:
- the posts of the ELSA® rockfall barrier are made of treated round timber and blend with the natural vegetation,
- the reduction in the number of anchors required minimizes the need for vegetation clearing.
